BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — An Idaho pride festival is responding to criticism of a scheduled children's drag show. On Wednesday, KBOI reports Zions Bank announced it is withdrawing its participation from the Boise Pride Fest, saying it was unaware of the event's activities involving children. "When we committed to our sponsorship of this year's Boise Pride event, we were unaware of the event's activities involving children/minors. Since learning of these specific activities, we have made the decision to withdraw our participation in this year's Boise Pride event and have communicated this with event organizers,"
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Animal cruelty cases continue to increase and one problem in many areas is the "lack of personnel" to enforce the state's cruelty laws. Recent news out of Centre County that a humane officer is being added there is quickly drawing a favorable response. Humane officers investigate cases of animal neglect or cruelty. Last week, the Centre County Sheriff's Office announced that one of their staffers will be a county-based humane officer.
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — The popular eatery Chipotle Mexican Grill will soon be coming to the Somerset area. Somerset County Planner Chadd Sines confirmed to 6 News that Chipotle would be one of three businesses that are set to open in the former Kings Family Restaurant in Somerset Township. A land-use permit for an LED lit sign has been approved for the North Center Avenue location. Sines did not know an opening date or what the two other businesses are.
UPDATE | ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Altoona police are providing new details about the investigation into a New Year's Day shots fired incident that led to the arrests of four teenagers, and authorities searching for a fifth suspect. On Thursday, police charged Domenico Pezzuti, Eli Rodgers, Hezikiah Stehley, Imeen Whitaker, and Ezekiel Williams, all age 16, in connection to the incident. According to the affidavit, police were dispatched early New Year's Day morning for reports of several shots being fired in the area of 4th Street and 7th Avenue.
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — In Cambria County, the fourth annual Ed Dumm Memorial tractor parade was held Monday in Nicktown. This year, the parade was held in honor of Vincent "Vinny" Rietscha IV, a local 6-year-old boy who was killed in a DUI crash earlier this year. We spoke with Vinny’s father about how his family is honored to have the community's support. Organizers say close to 100 tractors took part in the parade.
JOHNSTOWN, PA (WJAC) - Bishop McCort Catholic eighth-grader Bo Bassett tied history this weekend. Bassett won his 8th Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling state championship, a previous record held solely by Nico Cortese from Franklin Regional. Over the course of the three-day tournament, no wrestler went the full length against Bassett. The world champion defeated every opponent he faced by technical fall in the first period. In the first place bout on the 117 lbs mats, Bassett won 19-4 technical fall in the first period.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania's state Senate unanimously approved legislation Wednesday that would authorize the Department of Revenue to go after the lottery winnings and income tax returns of turnpike toll scofflaws. The bill now goes to the House of Representatives. The Associated Press reported in 2021 that an internal study by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said that more than $104 million in tolls went uncollected over a 12-month period on the roadway.
Cameron County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Pennsylvania Game Commission had to free an elk in Cameron County earlier this week after the animal became entangled in a telephone wire. Wildlife officials say they were dispatched on Tuesday, Sept. 26, after receiving a call that the 6x6 bull elk was reportedly wrapped around a pine tree in Sinnemahoning, Cameron County. Officials say the bull was sedated as rescuers worked to cut the wire and free it from the elk's antlers.
