COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has been arrested on charges that he assaulted an Associated Press photographer and police officers during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. An FBI agent's affidavit says 54-year-old Alan William Byerly was armed with what appeared to be a stun gun when he charged at officers guarding the Capitol. Byerly also is accused of joining other rioters in assaulting an AP photographer who was dragged down stairs in front of the building.
WASHINGTON (TND) — A few new rule changes by the U.S. government could allow more electric vehicle owners to get a tax credit. "Well at the end of the day, it's simply going to incentivize more folks to consider purchasing EVs," said Shelton Weeks, a professor in the department of economics & finance at Florida Gulf Coast University. This year, tax credits will become available when you buy an EV from an authorized dealer.

Community members say the store has only been there for five years, and they’re not ready to see it go.
“Some people were really upset, and others were just really distraught over it because a lot of people shop here," says Hooversville resident Dashanti Garlitz.
“You’re gonna have 90-year-old women not knowing what to do in the wintertime when they need stuff,” says Garlitz.
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The NFL released its schedule on Thursday night and we now know who and when the Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Pittsburgh will open the season at home against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Steelers' 2023 schedule also includes four primetime games, highlighted by a Week 2 matchup at home against the Cleveland Browns.
Pittsburgh is also scheduled to play two Thursday night games, both at home.

FORT BENNING, Ga. - A U.S. Army Ranger and Penn State graduate was killed in a single tactical vehicle accident in Fort Benning, Georgia.
1st Lt. Connor Bednarzyk, 25, was killed in the accident Sept. 7.
Bednarzyk was assigned as the platoon leader of the Distribution Platoon, Echo Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, according to a U.S. Army news release.
