SOMERSET - The State Correctional Institution at Somerset is on lockdown following several fights among inmates druing the past week.
According to SCI-Somerset officials, the facility was placed on lockdown Sunday afternoon after inmates were involved in a series of fights and in some instances "improvised" weapons were used.
Officials said three inmates were stabbed, but their injuries were treated at the facility.
No staff members were injured nor assaulted in any of the instances.
2nd UPDATE |JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Jefferson County coroner Brenda Shumaker has identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal crash along Route 219 in Washington Township, Jefferson County.
Shumaker says 68-year-old Barbera Lundberg reportedly suffered a medical emergency prior to losing control of her vehicle and crossing into the opposite lane of travel.
Police say Lundberg's vehicle collided with a pickup truck that was hauling Porta-Johns.
Lundberg was pronounced dead at the scene.

EBENSBURG, Pa. - A former employee of the Cambria County Coroner's Office has filed a lawsuit against the county and the coroner's office, claiming she was retaliated against for filing a sexual harassment complaint against Coroner Jeff Lees.
Attorneys for Stacie Holsinger filed the suit in the U.S District Court of Western Pennsylvania Friday.
According to the complaint, Holsinger was hired by former county Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski on July 16, 2012, as the Executive Assistant to the Coroner.

Johnstown's Moneyman team helped organize the egg hunt for the second year at Sargent’s Stadium, but they say the idea came from someone else.

BALTIMORE (TND) — The search for the six people missing after Tuesday morning's Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore is over. It was replaced with a new recovery phase as of 7:30 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard announced.
The change was based on the amount of time those people would've been in the cold water, and doubts they will be found alive.
There are also concerns about the safety of first responders, considering the amount of bridge structure debris in the water.
Voters in the state House’s 80th District will have the chance to vote for a new Republican candidate this November.
Candidate Scott Barger has secured the Republican nomination in Tuesday’s primary with 5,396 votes cast in his favor in Blair County, according to unofficial election results.
He also scored an additional 252 votes in Huntingdon County.
The nod comes as an upset for state Rep. Jim Gregory, who secured 4,434 votes in Blair County and 215 in Huntingdon County, according to unofficial results.
