Officials confirm COVID-19 case at Clearfield nursing home
CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — A Clearfield nursing home has confirmed a COVID-19 case, officials said.
Guardian Healthcare confirmed the case at their Mountain Laurel facility to 6 News via email Wednesday morning.
"The safety of our residents and employees is, and always has been, our top priority,” they said. “We can confirm a case of COVID-19 at our Mountain Laurel facility in Clearfield. We are following all CDC, CMS and DOH guidance for health care facilities.”
Guardian Healthcare said the measures include isolating residents who have or are suspected to have the virus in their rooms with their own bathroom.
They’re also limiting visitors, monitoring sick or exposed staff and keeping in regular contact with public health care authorities.
"The facility is adhering to approved hygiene protocols, disinfection procedures and the use of proper personal protective equipment for all health care personnel,” said Guardian Healthcare.
